Mission Statement

We aim to establish ourselves as the main provider of Claims / Accident Management and Replacement Hackney / Private Hire Vehicles in the UK.

Dunning Wood Associate (DWA) was the first to establish an ABI 1st Tier status and is currently the largest supplier of replacement plated vehicles in the UK. DWA is continuing to work alongside: major insurers, major accident management & credit hire companies, a large network of brokers, taxi operators & drivers, and numerous other organisations within the industry. DWA still remains focused in achieving a greater market share without compromising our highest quality of service.

The Beginning

In the past claims companies and solicitors alike either avoided or failed to understand claims involving plated vehicles. Starting with an existing base of clients in the plated vehicle industry, Norman Feerick founded Dunning Wood Associates over 8 years ago. The many complexities of the taxi industry established a solid framework on which the systems for replacement, plated vehicle hire were constructed. The credit hire industry was stunned and severely hurt by Dimond vs. Lovell. At this stage DWA was already dealing with claims in a reasonable and ethical manner

Association of British Insurers (ABI)

Having established agreed procedures and rates between the Insurers and the Hire Providers, the ABI ensures that these are implemented. The two groups can be sure that they are working together for a mutual benefit. In order to become a 1st tier provider Dunning Wood needed to offer nation-wide coverage. This means that a hire provider is required to service customers within most council authorities within England & Wales.

In summary the benefits to the taxi driver and Insurers alike are:
Fixed ABI charges recoverable on behalf of the client
Total nation-wide coverage of all of our services. Total benefit of compensation, e.g. personal injury claims, is passed to client with absolutely no share taken by ourselves
The use of Dunning Wood approved solicitors only, i.e. no unreasonable CFA’s, no ‘uplift’ on costs and no deduction of fees can be placed upon a clients claim
To act ethically and reasonably on behalf of the taxi driver and Insurers

The Associates

With Dunning Wood’s Head office and main claims centre on the South Coast, an associate network was required to retain the high standard of client relations that had already become established. Like-minded people who understood the intricacies of the taxi industry formed each of the Dunning Wood Associates. Each associate services a separate region of England and Wales, with their own local client base and fleet of dedicated hire vehicles. All key members within the group have 5 or more years experience in claims management and vehicle replacement, and have 2 or more years specialising in plated vehicles.
 

Fleet Vehicles

Since each associate within the group has their own fleet of dedicated vehicles, they are able to mould the growth based on their local regions needs. Each vehicle is provided ready to accommodate a meter, radio, aerial, GPS and any other accessory that is required by the local authority or operator.

All vehicles come with AA coverage and most are less than 3 years old. Dunning Wood Associates also provide executive hire, 7 seater's, and purpose built vehicles.
